Moakler IV, and a sister Michelle Tucker who died in 2012. She attended Barrington High School. As a child, she enjoyed her time with her grandfather on his farm in the weekends.

Shanna Moakler started her journey from Miss Teen USA pageant representing Rhode Island holds 7^th position in the competition. Later in 1993, she won the Miss Teen All American title. Moakler participated in Miss USA pageant representing the title Miss New York USA and won as the first runner-up in Miss USA pageant.

Further, Shanna won the title of Miss USA in the year 1995. Moreover, she started modeling from the age of 15. She has appeared on magazines like Cosmopolitan and Brentwood and signed a contract with Playboy.
