Sydney began her soccer career when she started playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps during the 2005 W-league season. Sydney was the youngest player to ever play for the team at the age of 15 years. She was one of the most hardworking female players that exist in the Whitecaps.
Sydney played collegiate soccer for the UCLA team from 2008- 2011 under head coaches Jill Ellis and B.J. Snow. It was one of her excellent performance there; she showed her enormous talent there. Leroux was in her zone while Sydney played, Leroux scored so many goals that she was approached and invited to All-Freshman Team in Pac-10. She became the most valued players in the team. She has scored four hat tricks in her college career and ranked on the 4th position in UCLA’s record history.
After her college career, Sydney returned to Vancouver Whitecaps for the 2011 season and helped them rank second in the league. She was named ‘Rookie of the Year’ in the same season.
