Shaun Johnston is a Canadian born director and an actor, known for his famous TV series Heartland in 2007. Other than that, he has acted in several movies like In Plainview and Wynonna Earp to name some of his famous works.

Shaun was born on 9th September 1958 in Edmonton, Canada. He belongs to American nationality and part of the English ethnicity. As a child, he was fond of fashion photography and developed an interest in basketball during his high school days. Shaun completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Red Deer College. Later, he joined the University of Alberta to do BFA degree.

Early Profession and Career

In 1993, Shaun debuted in the movie ‘Two Brothers, a Girl and a Gun’  and later acted in the TV series Destiny Ridge, as Rich Dearden in the same year. In his hometown of Edmonton, he co-founded a theatre named, Shadow Theatre.

In his career as an actor, Shaun has played a part in over 75 movies and TV Series including ‘A Heartland Christmas,’ Touch the Top of the World,’ ‘The Christmas Blessing,’ ‘Into the West’ and ‘Chicks with Sticks’ among his famous works. As a celebrity, you often become the prey of controversies. Likewise, Shaun faced numerous criticisms for poor handling of debates regarding Heartland.

Shaun has been nominated four times by AMPIA awards. In 2017, he was nominated for Best Performance by an Alberta actor for Wynonna Earp.
