Scoot was born to his parents, mother Ann McNairy, and father, Stewart Hall McNairy. Scoot had small parts in movies like Wonderland, Herbie: Fully Loaded and Art School Confidential.

McNairy has worked with Brad Pitt in Andrew Dominik’s directorial film Killing Them Softly; the movie was based on the 1974 novel Cogan’s Trade.
