Later in 2014, Sam returned to Perth and led them to Westfield W-League Grand Final.

In 2013, Sam started playing for Western New York Flash, USA, where she made 21 appearances scoring six goals. From 2015 to 2017, she played for Sky Blue where she smashed records scoring four goals in a single match.

As of 2018, Sam is playing for Chicago Red Stars where she scored 16 goals winning the golden boot for the second season. She holds the most goals scoring record in the NWSL with 51 goals, and she won the Most Valuable Player in NWSL in 2017.
